Writing Prompt

\”Evolving\” – poem – Jacky B

I am safely creating my cocoon.

On a little twig, on a small branch, of a big tree.

This lonely leaf will protect me.

As I allow myself to turn to mush, the transformation begins.

I am grateful for the abundance of food and experience that lead me here.

I let go of pieces of the past that are no longer needed.

The negative experiences leave no marks.

I add strong foundations and characteristics to my patterned wings.

As they form they caress my body.

I have faith that they will guide me and give me the power to get to where I need to be.

My new legs tingle as I feel every part of them grow.

I don\’t yet know of the wonders these feet will land me on.

My face has changed, stripped of the old me, I am braver and bolder.

My body is ready and my mind is fully open to the new life that awaits me.

It is time to leave this mutating part of my life behind.

I stretch back the protective casing that housed these precious moments.

Greeted by light and endless opportunities.

Unravelling my unknown beauty.

I welcome the sun\’s rays on my wings.

I am met with my first lesson as the new me.

Taking flight.

Nest (writing prompt)

I logged on to WordPress today and saw a writing prompt exercise, write a post relating to the word \”Nest\”.  I find this word quite fitting as my husband and I have been in our new home for a week, our new nest.

\”Nest\”

Tying two lives together,
Through love, friendship and trust,
Our marriage is something special,
A bright future for us is a must.

We celebrated with adventure,
Travelling many cities, seeing new sights,
Around Europe through the Summer,
Breathtaking days and wonderful nights.

From Australia to Ireland,
Dublin will be our new hometown,
We can build our nest and start again,
Find routine and begin to settle down.

Our nest is our strong home,
For family, growth and protection,
Built with happiness, love and bits and bobs,
and cosy rooms for showing affection.

As our family size increases,
Our nest will need to grow too,
It will change and it will flourish,
Sharing stories on its walls of me and you.

A quick little poem by me, Jacky B.

Something else relating to \”Nest\”…

I saw a little birds nest in a withered, old tree the other day out the front of my Auntie\’s house. The tree had lost all of its leaves, getting ready for winter, exposing the nest. It looked like an old nest that hadn\’t been used for a while. But it was very cute. Birds are amazing how they can piece together little homes with their beaks and feet. Nature is amazing.

I hope you have a happy day,
Much love,
Jacky B
